Dovra Terms of Use
Effective date: 10 October 2026
These terms apply to Dovra, the browser software offered at dovra.dev (including downloads from dl.dovra.dev) and through the project's GitHub releases, and to the dovra.dev website. Each package also includes a TERMS.md file; that file is the version of these terms for that package. This page is the current version.
1. Who provides Dovra
DOVRA SOFTWARE LTD ("the Company", "we") provides Dovra. DOVRA SOFTWARE LTD is a private company limited by shares registered in England and Wales under company number 17493263, whose registered office is 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Contact: legal@dovra.dev.
These terms concern the Windows x64 Dovra release and any expressly included Dovra-owned material. The browser-only portable package and the separately identified optional toolkit have different contents; a reference to the toolkit does not mean it is included in every browser archive. Product versions distinguish releases. Chromium versions identify the underlying engine and are not formal Dovra product versions.
Dovra is a Chromium-based browser for authorized automation, testing and research. Configurable browser parameters do not grant permission to access a service, an entitlement to an account, guaranteed anonymity or compatibility with every website. Built on Chromium. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
2. Pricing and availability
Dovra is offered free of charge. There is no download or license fee for this version. This is not a promise that all future releases, support or services will remain free. Features may change, stop working, or be removed in later versions. Any future paid offering will be described separately before you are asked to pay.
3. Your permission to use Dovra
To the extent the Company owns the relevant rights or is authorized to grant them, you may install, run, and make backup copies of the Dovra-owned material in a release for lawful personal or business use. This permission does not replace a separately stated license for a particular file or component. No broader claim of ownership over upstream contributions is made, and no trademark permission or upstream endorsement is implied.
Nothing in these terms prevents modification of the Dovra/FFmpeg work for your own use or reverse engineering of that work for debugging those modifications. Applicable open-source rights and mandatory legal rights are preserved, including rights relevant to modifying and relinking FFmpeg-derived software.
4. Third-party components and licenses
Dovra includes Chromium and other third-party software. Each component remains governed by its own license, and those licenses take precedence for that material. See the NOTICE and LICENSE files and the licenses/ folder in each package, chrome://credits in the browser, and SOURCE-MATERIALS.md. Material expressly supplied under MIT or another open-source license retains that grant.
5. Acceptable use
- Restrictions. You must not use Dovra for fraud, identity impersonation, unauthorized access to any system, circumvention of access controls, or any purpose that violates applicable law or the terms of a service you interact with.
- No assistance with evasion. Support channels will not provide customized guidance on bypassing a specific third party's security checks, bot-detection systems or verification workflows. General questions about automation APIs, configuration and testing are welcome.
- Sanctions and export. You represent that you are not located in, or acting on behalf of any person located in, a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive sanctions, and that your use complies with applicable UK, EU and US export and sanctions rules.
- No guarantee of stealth or anonymity. Dovra does not guarantee that automated activity will be undetected, that a session will remain anonymous, or that access to any third-party service will succeed. Target sites change their controls frequently. Any statement to the contrary in marketing or unofficial channels is not a commitment of the Company.
- Your authority. You represent that you have the legal right or permission to test, automate or access the applications and environments you target with Dovra. The Company does not endorse or verify that authority.
6. Lawful use and support
Use the software within the laws and permissions applicable to your work. Suitable activities include testing systems you own or are authorized to test, web compatibility checks, accessibility testing and lawful research. Public access to a page does not by itself authorize collection, reuse or disclosure of its contents or personal information.
The Company does not authorize unlawful access, credential theft, fraud, unlawful personal-data collection, malware distribution or interference with another system. Support will not provide targeted assistance for those activities. Respect applicable access requirements, verification requirements and request limits. This support policy does not withdraw rights separately granted by an open-source license.
You are responsible for obtaining the permissions your activity requires and for reviewing third-party tools, extensions, websites and data sources you choose to use. This does not exclude any duty or liability of the Company.
7. Privacy and local data
Dovra has its own privacy notice, included in each package as PRIVACY.md. The website's privacy notice is at dovra.dev/privacy.
Profiles, cookies, site storage, downloads, local archives and screenshots can remain on your device. External websites and tools may process information according to their own roles. Dovra does not promise zero storage, zero network activity or protection from every form of tracking or malicious content. Keep an appropriate backup of important data. Removing program files does not necessarily remove profiles, downloads or toolkit output.
8. No warranty
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Dovra and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Company does not warrant that Dovra will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with any particular website or service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company is not liable for any loss or damage of any kind, whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential, including loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use Dovra or the website.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
10. Changes to these terms
The Company may update these terms. Changes will be identified with their effective date and apply to releases after that date. They will not retroactively remove rights granted under an applicable license.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them. This does not deprive a consumer of the protection of mandatory laws of the country where they live, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
